For the Perfect Start:
Countdown until the start of the race:
5 Minutes:Countdown Starts. Turn on the M3 countdown timer. Check wind direction.
4 Minutes:If needed, re-sync countdown timer with a 1 Button press
1 Minute:Check wind direction. Use the boat compass and Sunnto M3 rotating bezel to mark wind direction and decide your favored end of the start line.
30 Seconds:Head to the start line.
10 Seconds:Listen to audio signals from Suunto M3 during your final countdown.
During the Race:
Continue using the rotating bezel to mark wind shifts and direction. Use chronograph to monitor race time and add time stamps/intervals.
