Late 1960's M9 Serial No. This piece features a 38mm Stainless Steel Case, Black Dial, GMT hand and 24 hour rotating bezel on a Black Leather strap. Watch has been completely restored by our service department. The Astronaut is a relatively rare Accutron, as not many were produced. Originally designed for airline and military pilots, the watch features a 12 hour dial with a "3rd hour" 24 hour hand and a 24 hour rotating bezel, allowing the wearer to instantly change time on the 2nd time zone, or 24 hour time zone. Another interesting feature of this watch, as you will notice from the photograph, is that it has no visible setting crown. The time is set on the back of the watch by a half-moon shaped lever that flips up with a finger nail. Once the lever is up, the time stops and can be set and synchronized.
