Tudor Oyster Prince Date by Rolex, stainless steel 33.5mm case, Rolex automatic movement, red date window, screw down crown. Circa 1960's., white dial, black leather strap. Watch is in near mint condition and is keeping good time.

The Tudor is an in-house brand manufactured by Rolex. In most cases it uses a lot of the same components that Rolex watches use, such as crowns, tubes, cases, and even some movement parts. The difference between the two is that Rolex watches are certified chronometers, while Tudor watches are not. That simply means that most all Rolex movements go through an independent testing facility in Switzerland that certifies that the movement's time keeping falls within certain specifications, while Tudor movements do not go through such a rigorous testing process.

All in all, the quality, especially in some of the earlier models, was rather comparable. So, own a Rolex at the fraction of the cost of a Rolex.
