Longines Cosmo 14k White Gold 27.3mm x 34mm case (including lugs). Longines 428 17 jewel manual wind movement. "Stick" hands and markers with a silver/white dial. The year was 1962... times were good. The Vietnam War was not yet in the headline news, Marilyn Monroe passed away, John Glenn flew in the "Friendship 7" without guidance from ground control, and Cuba would burst into headlines that October... Men's fashions were simple; white shirts under black or gray suits, the ties were skinny. Men wore their suits everywhere, at church on Sundays, at the office, out to dinner, at the club or even to the ball game. There were no "Casual Fridays" and about the only place you didn't wear a suit was to the beach, and even then you still wore a bathing suit. One just needs to look at newsreels or newspaper & magazine photographs of that time period... The watch they wore was usually simple and understated as well; stylish, but not flashy as this elegant white gold Longines...
