Rare and unusual Ferrero 14k Gold watch with a 31.2mm x 31.2mm gold case, Ferrero 15 Jewel 3 adjustment manual wind movement. Wire lugs, yellow partial guilloche dial, beautifully engraved watch case and Art Nouveau Arabic numerals. Completely serviced and restored. The year was 1918 and "The war to end wars" had finally come to its end... It was a time of rebirth for a country and society ravaged by the yoke of war. People were ready to live again. "New" was in vogue, as were brighter colors in fashion, as were big elegant cars, top hats and tuxedos... It was fun to be alive again; and amongst all of the euphoria, the wristwatch came to be. During the war, out of necessity, the American Dough Boy began to adopt and modify ladies' pendant watches by having wire lugs attached to their cases and then attaching a leather or canvas strap to them. Now that the war was over, this fashion statement, born out of necessity came to be. This Ferrero gold timepiece was of that period; that golden age. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to wear a piece of history!
